Higher Vibrational Self
“A human being is part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive.” - Albert Einstein, 1954
Before you continue, I want to clearly define a term used throughout: materiality. And the terms materiality and form interchangeably for convenience. Materiality (form) as it is used here represents ‘objective’ reality—the reality of apparently separate things. This includes dualistic thought forms, emotional states, and physical objects that are perceived to be able to be gained, grasped, possessed, added to you, and clung to by the ego. It’s what appears to be outside of or separate from awareness/consciousness/being. Simply, materiality is anything that ‘objects’ to awareness.
Spirituality has become corrupted
What is reality? What is real and what is unreal? What does that even mean? These are critical questions to examine when unfolding a spiritual journey, or for any life lived with a degree of philosophical scrutiny for that matter. To believe in a spiritual dimension is to believe in something transcendent. Transcendent to what? Spirituality is that which is transcendent of all form—of all materiality. It is the real that lies behind the unreal. It is the formless that transcends all form. It is the permanence that cannot be destroyed. It is the infinite singularity behind the finite plurality. It is the Great Beyond that is beyond all human thought, belief, concept, and category and yet it is what many humans would call ‘unreal.’
Instead of something that is impermanent, destructible, temporary, and illusory being termed ‘real,’ couldn’t it be argued that it is unreal? Or at least, when contrasted with something eternal and permanent, has a quality of unreality to it? That at least it isn’t what it appears to be? Yet, with great certainty what most humans call ‘real’ IS the impermanent material appearance. What we’ve called ‘reality’ however has in fact been scientifically demonstrated to be very unreal through quantum mechanics with Nobel Prize winning validation. As the physicist John Wheeler put it, “useful as it is under ordinary circumstances to say that the world exists ‘out there’ independent of us, that view can no longer be upheld.” But why does it really matter if the universe is actually material or is just appearing as material? It matters greatly when you apply this strange awakening to the thing and its life story called ‘you.’ That ‘you’—the material ‘you’ and all of its forms—are identical to that universe that isn’t locally real.
“Reality is but an illusion, albeit a persistent one” - Albert Einstein
The separate self—your body and its ego construct—is only an appearance in consciousness. In that it only appears to be real , to me made out of something called matter and myself, but in fact it has no substantial separate-self existence—no separate reality of its own. An illusion just like materiality is an illusion—there in appearance, but not there in reality (Idealism). Though your body and ego are of the most incredible imagined creations possible—a breathtaking vehicle and navigation system for an epic earth adventure—they are not your identity. Like Einstein’s understanding of reality, the separate self is but a persistent illusion. But don’t take my or Einstein’s or the Buddha’s word for it, you can find this out directly for yourself. You can smoke a heroic dose of 5-MeO-DMT and become God—the only reality and ‘self’ that actually exists—or you can keep taking this trip and read on.
Your Identity is real, it’s permanent, and it’s non-local, though you wouldn’t necessarily be able to deduce that from your normal waking experience. And that’s by design. In order to make this great game of life on earth work we have to believe we are the character in the story. In spiritual terminology, this is called being asleep or not ‘awakened.’ The dream of life is happening but you aren’t lucid in it. You are just acting out the conditioned patterns of the local self character with all its problems, wants, judgments, fears, and attachments to things being the way this separate conditioned character wants them to be—until the suffering becomes insufferable. Then some of us break open—we awaken to the lucidity of the spiritual dimension of this dream and begin the process of awakening into spiritual enlightenment. And it is through the experience of awakening that we can find this permanent, eternal, non-local, very real Self that we are. But just like trying to stay awake when you’re nodding off to the calming sounds of a less-than-enthralling audio book, incredible focus and determination is required to stay lucid in the dream of life.
The greatest obstacle to overcome in the actualization of enlightenment is the real-ity of the separate self. As Einstein said, this separate self is literally “a kind of optical delusion of consciousness,” yet through the experience of form—senses, concepts, body, feelings, personality, ego—we are very convinced this self is real and is really who we are. So if Einstein, quantum mechanics, and thousands of years of spiritual teachings are correct about this self, how do we escape this “prison” reality to get to the truth that lies beyond delusion? The simple answer is spirituality—immateriality, immaterial reality—but probably not spirituality as you’ve come to know it.
If we peer into the fundamental essence of spirituality, we can see it is simple and not identical to the massive industry that it has become. If we travel back to its most ancient origins we find three technologies of the body: meditation, contemplation (sometimes done as prayer), and concentration. These technologies are what have generated millions of pages of spiritual teachings—pointers pointing to the reality that can be experienced directly through the three spiritual body technologies. But there’s a problem. Spirituality has become largely about the teachings—the ideas, concepts, and other forms that are the material, not the immaterial Truth being pointed to. This materialization of the non-material in the form of teachings is helpful as wise guidance when navigating the phenomenal plane of reality, but no finity of form can ever encapsulate the infinite formless Truth of your identity. We have to go back to what spirituality actually is in order to see our way through Einstein’s “optical delusion.”
Spir·it·u·al: relating to or affecting the spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.
A “Spiritual belief” can be seen as an oxymoron if one considers it through the lens that no human belief could ever be Spirit. However a belief (form) about Spirit (formless) is compatible. They are two seemingly separate realities—different states of consciousness. Just like a pot full of water pours—a brain thinks and creates beliefs. Form is what Spirit does, not what it essentially is. We make a mistake when we make the pointer to the reality, the reality itself and create a problem in our spiritual understanding when we conflate form with the transcendent formless. For example, when we desire materiality as if it in itself is important rather than seeing materiality as a representation of a more valuable spiritual reality, we get lost and confused about the nature of materiality and how it serves us spiritually. This gets especially problematic when we conflate the activity of the human brain with Sprit—where spiritual beliefs get substituted for spiritual experience. When we do so, we have lost our key to unlock the “prison” of our limited phenomenal identity.

ENLIGHTENMENT is self-realization
How do we make progress spiritually? To answer most directly, we have to perceive beyond the optical delusion of phenomena. We awaken to the Truth that lies beyond the apparent ego-self delusions and bring that truth into embodiment—into our actual lived experience. Similarly to what the Flammarion art above illustrates, we pierce the veil of phenomenal experience and enter into the spiritual dimension directly—we realize (make real) the Truth (think The Matrix, but benevolent). This is where our definition of 'spiritual’ really matters.
Self-realization is the lived experience of knowing you are the One immaterial, eternal Self and this realization comprises the core of what spiritual enlightenment is. In order to get to know the real, True Self, we have to experience it. No thought, concept, or belief will do the job. In order to realize this Self, we have to enter into what exists prior to form. We have to transcend the ego’s level of consciousness to find ourselves in the higher vibrational states where the True Self is more available—where separation is less apparent. It is a state beyond your wildest possible conceptions because it is non-conceptual—a place a human brain alone cannot go. This state is spiritual and it’s full of higher-vibrational Love energy. When we can realize the Truth of Self for ourselves we can un-realize (make unreal) our local self. The local ‘you’ or ego can be seen for the non-real local appearance of the Universe/God that it is—a precious gift and clever disguise of apparent separation, with all the beauty and terror that comes with that. But not actually separate and not ultimately You as the quantum evidence has revealed. This realization creates liberation from the problems that the separate self perceives and the suffering that comes with it. This is where we can see what human spirituality is all about—recontextualizing ‘what matters’ and ‘what’s important’ by shifting it from being aligned with the illusion of materiality to the reality of the immaterial.
(work on this paragraph) Because separation is an illusion, materiality and immateriality are not separate things. Though, human dualistic perception makes them stubbornly appear that way. That is often what is meant in my, and other spiritual teachings when they regard ‘illusion,’ or perhaps what is meant by Einstein’s ‘delusion’ of reality. In truth, materiality represents immateriality. Finities represent infinites. In order to be fully awake, we must be able to know how and why this is so. How it all fits together and how it is completely coherent in order to have a satisfying answer to the ultimate question: why are we here? If it’s true that I am the all-powerful Absolute Infinite Consciousness, why would I create the embodied experience of limitation? Only through transcendent states—awakening into Self-realization—can we understand and embody the infinitely satisfying Truth that is the answer.
All material pursuits are meant to end in dissatisfaction or limited satisfaction so that they may lead one to the unlimited satisfaction found in immaterial Being—in Self-actualization. The Universe is kind that way, even though ‘not getting what we want’ materially can be seen as an unkind offering by the ego, this is where we can mistake the representation for the authentic. When we see how the finite is poised to transport one into knowing the qualities of the infinite, we can see the material body-ego-reality construct as the perfect means to present the infinite immaterial Self to yourself. How could the infinite immaterial reality explore itself without a separate material perspective and representation? That’s ultimately why you and reality exist, in a nutshell. Realizing the local material self as unreal means seeing through the illusion into the much more magnificent reality of the greatest show in the Universe. Spirituality is the essence of the why and how we can make meaning from a higher place than a separate surviving human animal would.
When we aspire spiritually, what do we aspire to? Is it toward Einstein’s interpretation, by “widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty,” by seeing the “value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self,” or are we still playing the smaller game of material pursuit? By the way, Buddha’s interpretation is identical to Einstein’s, but perhaps more importantly: what is your interpretation of what matters? Hopefully yours is aligned with other enlightened masters, but we know having these immaterial desires and aspirations don’t come easy. We can’t ‘will’ the desire to aspire to such things. Desire generates from what matters to us so one could argue that we must change what matters to us in order to aspire to the great heights of human potential. Spiritual teachings are helpful in that they help us understand what we can aspire to, but are insufficient at getting us to embody the highest aspirations. So how do we embody Truth? And how do we get there most effectively?
Return to the INCORRUPTIBLE origins of authentic spiritual practice
The three most ancient spiritual practices provide the answer. What happens in meditation, contemplation, and concentration?
First and foremost ‘Being’ happens. The discursive activity of the mind ceases and Beingness takes over—Eckhart Tolle’s Power of Now in action. Being is already loving, compassionate, ever-present, and Intelligent—we can trust it. It takes over ego-thinkingness by utilizing subtle energetic queues, intuition, and Infinite Intelligence to discern choices from. It takes over doingness by acting from a place of equanimous love and contemplative insight.
Secondly, through Being—when the discursive activity of the mind ceases—we can get to zero point. Zero point is the total silence and stillness of mind that allows us to experience what lies beyond the limitations of the body-ego identity. Zero equals infinity in the calculous of God, and non-activity is a gateway into what exists prior to any constructed identity, any form. When you travel there, you experience infinite transcendent existence—our true identity—and it is ‘where’ we can more deeply realize the Truth of who we are and what phenomenal reality is ‘doing’.
Thirdly, heart opening and awakening happens. When all chakras are flowing, the heart chakra is open and active in every moment. Love energy (kundalini, Holy Spirit) permeates our being and enables us to keep the mind out of dualistic discursive thought in perpetuity. Love is the only energy capable of sustaining enlightenment and Love isn’t generated by a brain. With this energy sustained, consciousness is elevated, presence can be experienced continually, every minute is meditation, and every moment becomes more enlightened.
By entering a transcendental state again and again, over time, one accelerates awakening and the realization of Truth. To the degree one can get to zero point is the degree that one can pierce the veil into deep Truth of reality and thus bring that Truth into embodiment. One becomes their True Self naturally, without manual manipulation of thought or feeling.
(this effective and short documentary by director David Lynch illustrates transcendental states amazingly well)
All of reality is just states of consciousness
“Everything in Life is Vibration” – Albert Einstein
“You” are experiencing a state of consciousness called (insert your name). A tree, a bug, an alien, every-thing is the immaterial Spirit imagining itself as material at different ‘states’ of consciousness. Everything that appears to exist (phenomena), exists at different vibrational states. Nothing is ever really separate, as separation is an optical delusion of consciousness, but the experience of separation and the lack-filled suffering that it can create is essential in leading one back to the Truth. It makes our ascension into higher consciousness guaranteed but not necessarily expedient. We can chose the more expedient path by choosing authentic spiritual practice.
The three spiritual body technologies are what allow us to choose to elevate/ascend into experiencing higher states of consciousness expediently. Experiencing higher states of consciousness is called awakening. Awakening leads to realization of Truth. Realizing Truth recontextualizes our subjective understanding/interpretation of ourselves, our meaning making, and of reality. This recognition, this recontextualization combined with living life through our presence of Being leads to Self-realized enlightenment.
“The Soul is covered by a thousand veils.” - Harzat Inyat Khan
Anyone who knows enlightenment will say that they didn’t get it from somewhere. Enlightenment isn’t something that can be added to a self that doesn’t actually exist. Those who know enlightenment have simply dissolved the “thousand veils” that covered the already present True Self that you’ve always been. Sustainable, enduring happiness cannot be found in objective reality because objective reality doesn’t actually exist. You can’t find happiness because you already are happiness, you’ve just been conditioned out of being it. You don’t have to find love, you already are love, you’ve just forgotten it so well that it seems hidden away from you. The same goes for what is the most amazing human experience possible—enlightenment. You already are enlightened, you’ve just been lost in the content of a thousand veils of material reality. The easiest way out is to deconstruct them through the non-dual insights offered in awakening.
When we become our higher vibrational Selves, perceived problems and sufferings that existed at the level of ego-identity no longer exist. We are liberated from the chains that bound us to repeating negative patterns and countless karmic re-incarnations. We also enable others to unlock countless spiritual treasures for themselves through their connecting in presence with you. In tandem, we leave behind the ego-identity selfishness that desires the illusion of materiality in the place of non-things such as “widening our circle of compassion…” We get to the destination by making time and space to get to Being. The purification power of higher-vibrational Love consciousness can dissolve any shadow and heal any emotional wound. This isn’t bypassing because Truth embraces everything and avoids nothing—this is the power of spiritual enlightenment.
Over time, these episodic awakenings into higher states of consciousness elevate our baseline consciousness—our lived experience. This, combined with other practices like Ego Mastery, creates accelerated vertical growth. Vertical growth means progressing to a new ‘stage’ of higher consciousness, or a more permanent abiding in what was previously only a temporary ‘state’ of higher consciousness.
This program attempts to bring you closer You than you’ve ever been, in a way that doesn’t require the disturbing mind-altering states of hardcore psychedelics. May the path ahead be lucid.

The Higher Vibrational Self Program
Contrary to what many believe, accessing more than “10% at any given time” of our brains would not necessarily make us better, more capable humans. In fact, a large body of scientific evidence supports that less may be more in many cases. From the experience of Jill Bolte Taylor’s stroke and subsequent research, we learned that the ego is primarily located in the left hemisphere of the brain and when it is inhibited by signals sent through the corpus-callosum, more of our True Loving Self is revealed. Science has discovered that the brain is not more activated during psychedelic trips but is less active, demonstrating Aldous Huxley’s and many other’s belief that the brain is a limiter of consciousness, not the generator of it. Near Death Experiences such as those presented by Dr. Eben Alexander show that the quantum spiritual reality is revealed when the brain is completely shut down.
Brainwave entrainment has been validated through neuroscientific research and has demonstrated that the brain can be manually influenced to operate at different frequencies that allow it to access different states of consciousness. Slower frequencies correlate with less discursive brain activity and greater access to higher consciousness states.
What does this all mean? We can tap into scientifically validated modern technologies to accompany the three fundamental spiritual practices and augment their results.
modulating the biological to enhance the vibrational
This program works in conjunction with your current mindfulness, meditation, and contemplation practice by adding the following elements:
Brainwave entrainment: specific frequencies of binaural or isochronic tones can bring the brain closer to transcendental states experienced by advanced meditators. They can meditate our brains in ways that accelerate progress and keep us on the threshold of awakening experiences throughout the day.
Concentration practice: is focusing on something to the exclusion of discursive thought. During this practice, one is turning and returning again to the object of concentration when one drifts away. Like lifting weights for your focused intention, this practice will enhance your daily concentration and focus power. This technique is also used in vipassana retreats to induce spontaneous awakenings.
GABA is the primary neuro-inhibiting molecule used by the brain. It can be used to reduce discursive thought activity, possibly release naturally occuring DMT, and still the mind more profoundly than beginner to moderate meditation practitioner.
Optional boosters: adding photobiomodulation (← click link for my extensive writing on the topic) can increase ATP and modulate other factors that optimize biological functioning. Nutritionally supporting your adrenal glands, which power awakening energy, can help ensure quality sleep and energy recovery (← click links for two supps I recommend). Optimizing your iron, vitamin D, and zinc levels (work with a naturopath) as well as supplementing with coenzyme b-complex can assist energy production that can increase bliss and realization. Lowering caffeine consumption can decrease discursive thought.
(If you want to try photobiomodulation, I sell affordable hand-held devices - email cory@biovibrational.com)
Weeks 1 & 2
Concentration practice - 5 to 7 days a week, 30 minutes
Stay lying in bed on your back.
Listen to the week 1 track with headphones for 30 minutes during very early morning waking.
Begin controlled breathing - more deeply than usual, expanding and contracting your belly.
Concentrate on the sensation of the rising and falling of the belly with a single-pointed focus with your eyes closed.
Attempt full absorption into the focused sensation of the breath. If the mind wanders, shift your focus to the sound of the rainy chimes or a visualization in your imagination. You can imagine for example a hot air balloon rising and falling, a small toy monkey ascending and descending a pole, or other such creations that correspond with the rising and falling of the belly breath. Return again and again if your mind goes into discursive thought until the end of the sound track. You may receive inspired non-discursive thought and you may wish to pause practice to take note—this is okay and expected as long as you return to practice.
After completion, go through your normal daily routine including meditation and contemplation.
GABA supplementation - this product, 2 days a week
If you fall asleep naturally and wake up at some point normally in the middle of the night, take a capsule of GABA during that time.
If not, take a capsule of GABA upon first waking.
Ideally this is taken on an empty stomach if possible, but not required.
Take the GABA during days when your Beta brain functioning isn’t required.
Do your meditation practice in the morning on these days if possible.
Notice the difference in your concentration, contemplation, and meditation practices that follow GABA supplementation - do you find it easier to simply Be? Is the mind more still? Are you having more insights or awakening experiences on GABA days?
Boosters
Do not begin any new boosters at this time.
Notes: concentration practice and brainwave entrainment won’t necessarily create a transcendental state at the time you are doing it, but instead prime the mind for that state to reveal itself in meditation, contemplation, and life in general. That being said, they surely can be transcendent after recurrent use as brainwave entrainment takes continual use over time to build effectiveness.

Weeks 3 & 4
Continue concentration practice 5 - 7 days a week, 60 minutes a day
This week shifts to 2, 30 minute sessions with 2 audio tracks used in a single day.
Continue to do a bed-based concentration practice for the first 30 minutes as you have done in the previous two weeks with Buddha Mind 1.
Directly after Buddha Mind 1, listen to Buddha Mind 2 while meditating or doing a concentration movement practice such as Yoga or Tibetan Rites. If you cannot or do not wish to, you can listen to this track while you get ready for your day, etc. Stay absorbed in the sounds of the track or with your breath as you do (returning again and again from discursive thought).
Continue GABA supplementation, 2 days a week
By now, you may have figured out when you can tolerate GABA optimally in your work/life schedule. Dose accordingly.
Consider trying 2 days, back to back as an experiment.
Boosters
If you care to, add photobiomodulation and nutritional support.
Read my writing on photobiomodulation if you haven’t read the above linked article yet.
Week 5 & Beyond
Decide if you would like to continue growing the benefits of the practice.
By now you should clearly know if this practice is adding benefit to your presence and spiritual awakening.
The program goes as long as you would like. I’ve been doing brainwave entrainment concentration practice regularly for five years and credit it with increasing my acceleration through vertical growth. One month is just an introduction to what this practice has to offer your Self-realization experience.
I suggest you continue with 60 minutes daily of Buddha Mind 1 & 2 for at least another 2 weeks if you continue. After that, you can choose to stay with them or branch out into any variety of my Isochronic Sonotherapeutic or Binaural Beat Entrainment tracks.
Keep what has worked and leave the rest. Did you get extra benefits from photobiomodulation or nutritional supplementation? Maybe not. Make an effort to reflect on what you would like to keep utilizing or remove moving forward.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time and effort.
